Sulieman Bani-Ahmad has received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, school of engineering at Jordan University of Science and technology in 1999. He received his master degree in Computer Science from the School of Information Technology at Al-Albayt University in Jordan, in 2001. Bani-Ahmad received his Ph.D. degree in Computing and Information Science from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University (Case school of engineering), Cleveland – Ohio, USA, in 2008. He is presently a professor at Al-Balqa Applied University. Bani-Ahmad’s research interests cover topics from High-performance computing, Web-computing, and Online Literature Digital Libraries. Bani-Ahmad has served as the chairman of the Computer Information Systems department at Al-Balqa Applied University. He also served as an assistant dean for Planning, Development and Quality Assurance for the school of Information Technology at Al-Balqa Applied University.

Bani-Ahmad’s research interests cover topics from Web-computing and Online Literature Digital Libraries. More specifically, he is interested in Social Network Analysis of literature citation graphs, domain-specific citation-behavior in literature citation networks, and research development models of literature. Bani-Ahmad also has works in the area of E-learning and technology-based teaching and has developed a tool for Multiple-Choice-based Exam-forms preparation. Finally, Bani-Ahmad also works in the area of parallel computing. More specifically, he worked on the topics of processor allocation and job scheduling.

Bani-Ahmad published in information retrieval and web computing conferences and journals such as Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL), European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries (ECDL), Innovations in Information Technology, the International Conference on Education and Information Technology (ICEIT), and the International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms and Programming (PAAP). Bani-Ahmad has also published in multiple journals. Examples are the VLDB journal, Information Technology Journal, the IADIS International Journal on Computer Science and Information Systems, Journal of Software Engineering, and the IEEE Data Engineering Bulletin.

Bani-Ahmad has served/is serving as a peer reviewer and a technical committee member in a number of international conferences and workshops. He is also a reviewer in a number of international journals.

Bani-Ahmad has worked as Lab Technician at the Department of Computer Engineering, Yarmouk University and Jordan University of Science and Technology, both in Irbid, Jordan. He also worked as Computer Trainer at the Greater Irbid Municipality, Irbid, Jordan. He worked as Instructor at the Faculty of Information Technology, Al al-Bayt University, Mafraq, Jordan. While working for his PhD, Bani-Ahmad was appointed as Grader for Database Systems and Data Structures Courses at the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He also worked as Research Assistant at the Department of Computer Science, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Bani-Ahmad has also worked as a Computer Technician, IT Consultant and Web Administrator, and as Web Developer at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Bani-Ahmad is currently working as Professor in the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (Department of Data Science) at Al-Balqa Applied University, Salt, Jordan.
